Rips marketing consultant
Rips growth, from someone who knows the pull.
Rip apps and digital pack openings are one of the fastest-growing categories in the US. I bring hands-on experience marketing rips and collectibles platforms, built on years of growth in sweepstakes and other gaming-adjacent categories.
A category with its own rules.
Rips sit between e-commerce, collectibles and gaming. The playbook from any one of those on its own doesn't quite fit.
The first rip decides everything
Ad platforms are watching
Buy-back changes the maths
Collectors and casual rippers want different things
From first rip to loyal collector
Acquisition within the rules
Activation and conversion
CRM and retention
Measurement and LTV
Lessons from sweepstakes, applied to rips.
At VGW I led acquisition for Chumba Casino, Global Poker and LuckyLand Slots, managing $4M+ a month in a category with strict ad policies, state-by-state rules and close regulatory attention. Rips share much of that DNA: random-reward mechanics, a cash-out path and platforms that watch closely.

“VGW was one of the biggest accounts we worked within the digital gaming sector.” Carl McCarthy, Head of Gaming, Meta
Rips marketing, answered
What is a rip app?
+
A rip app lets users buy digital packs that reveal real trading cards, often graded, with the odds shown before purchase. Users can usually sell a card back instantly, keep it in a vault, or have it shipped.
Can rip apps advertise on Google and Meta?
+
Usually, but with care. Random-reward products can fall under gambling-adjacent or mystery-box policies, so creative, targeting and landing pages need to match each platform's current rules. Getting this right early avoids disapprovals and account bans.
How is marketing a rips platform different from sweepstakes?
+
Both run on a deposit-and-play loop with a cash-out path, so much of the playbook carries over: careful compliance, fast creative testing and LTV-led acquisition. The difference is the product. Rips sell real collectibles, which brings in collector communities, card-specific demand and a funnel that behaves more like e-commerce.
Do you work with early-stage platforms?
+
Yes. From pre-launch planning to scaling acquisition for an established platform, as a fractional CMO, a hands-on growth marketer, or both.
Which rips platforms have you worked with?
+
Client work in this category is confidential, so no names here. I'm happy to talk through relevant experience on an intro call.
Launching or scaling a rips platform? Let's talk.
I take on a limited number of clients at a time, and conversations stay confidential. No minimum contract, just hands-on work from someone who knows the category.
